This Strategic Plan is both a continuation of this direction, as well as a commitment to moving the association to an even greater role in impacting the landscape of public education.  It recognizes the successes we have enjoyed as well as the challenges we face. And, it acknowledges that NSBA must continue to strengthen its financial position and internal capacity in order to achieve the ambitious goals that are being established.

Constitution and Bylaws of the National School Boards Association - NSBA's Constitution and Bylaws as amended April 8, 2016 by the Delegate Assembly in Boston, Massachusetts.

Beliefs and Policies of the National School Boards Association - The public school boards of America, united in their school boards associations and members into the National School Boards Association and its National Connection participants, believe that:

  1. Education is a civil right.
  2. It is necessary to the dignity and freedom of the American people.
    All students should have equal access to an education that maximizes their individual potential.

Resolutions of the National School Boards Association - The resolutions enacted by the 2016 Delegate Assembly of the National School Boards Association which met in Boston, Massachusetts, on April 8, 2016 originated from numerous school board sources throughout the United States, its territories, and possessions. Final debate and enactment of resolutions submitted are effected by the Delegate Assembly, which consists of local school board members from the various states and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

NSBA Board Policy Manual - updated June 10, 2016 - The NSBA Board of Directors’ Policy Manual is designed to enable the Board of Directors to exercise effective policy governance of NSBA and to provide a sound basis for the administration of NSBA by the executive director and staff.
