Coming Out of the Chaos: Planning for an Equitable Return to School
February 11, 3pm ET
District scheduling during the pandemic has been a challenge nationwide. Many schools have had to shift between remote, hybrid, and in-person instructional models in reaction to dynamic public-health variables. What started as a COVID response quickly turned into COVID survival. Now, there is a vaccine -- as well as political and community pressure for schools to return to in-person instruction. As schools look to reopen their doors this spring and next fall, what can they do to proactively create opportunities for students to make up ground? How can they level the playing field for students returning to school with vastly different experiences and challenges?
Please join Portland Public Schools Superintendent Guadalupe Guerrero, Rhode Island Department of Education Commissioner Angélica Infante-Green, and Denver Public Schools Interim Superintendent Dwight Jones for a discussion of these important questions on February 11th at 3:00 pm ET. This webinar will focus on scheduling and school design in the time of COVID and lessons learned for how to proactively and equitably respond to student needs moving forward.
