Bio

Building from a general business and labor practice in Washington DC in the 1970s, I spent thirty-one years in public sector municipal law and school law practice. As a municipal attorney and then as Deputy Corporation Counsel of the City of Rochester; and subsequently as County Attorney of Jefferson County, New York (a largely rural community and home of the U.S. Army's 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, NY), I had extensive experience in addressing the goals of, and mandates upon, elected boards and chief executive officers of municipalities. For the ten years immediately preceding my public sector retirement and my return to private practice in 2010, I served in-house as general counsel for the Rochester City School District and then the Buffalo City School District, overseeing all legal work of those jurisdictions and directly advising the Boards of Education and superintendents of each jurisdiction. I joined my current firm, the East Syracuse-based Ferrara Fiorenza PC, in April 2016.  I continue to be engaged primarily in the representation of traditional public school districts,  municipalities, public authorities, and private schools. My hobby is speed skating.
