Organization of State Association Executive Directors (OSAED) Resources

General Information

The Organization of State Association Executive Directors (OSAED) was formed to:  

  1. To serve as a liaison between state executive directors and NSBA as a means of supporting NSBA in fulfilling its mission of working with and through state associations.
  2. To provide a forum to adopt positions on issues affecting public education, state school boards associations and the National School Boards Association.
  3. To provide mutual assistance for executive directors of state school boards associations, including mentoring of new executive directors and sharing of best practices.

All state association executive directors of NSBA member state school boards associations are eligible for members.  The Organization has several standing committees whose purposes:

Liaison Committee - offer recommendations on issues affecting state associations being considered by NSBA Board and Executive Director.  To provide feedback to NSBA concerning the development of programs, products and services that be of benefit to its member associations.  

Leadership Development Committee - Shall be responsible for planning the programming at the Winter, Spring (Annual Conference) and Summer Institutes, and any special meetings as needed, such as the NSBA Summer Leadership Seminar.
