    The U.S. Department of Education announced that the following Notices Inviting Applications were published in the Federal Register: School-Based Mental Health (SBMH) Services Grant Program and the Applications for New Awards; Mental Health Service Professional Demonstration Grant ProgramWe encourage you to share these notices with any eligible applicants who might be interested in applying.  The deadline to apply is November 3, 2022.

     

    The SBMH Services Grant Program is designed to address student mental health needs by increasing the number of qualified school-based mental health services providers in local educational agencies (LEAs) with demonstrated need.  There is approximately $143 million in available funding for this year's competition. For more information, see Final Priorities, Requirements, and Definitions-School-Based Mental Health Services Grant Program.

     

    The MHSP Demonstration Grant Program is designed to increase mental health support for children and youth in schools by supporting innovative partnerships to train postsecondary graduate students in school-based mental health fields and to place these students in high-need LEAs to complete required field work, credit hours, internships, or related training. Projects must include a partnership between a high-need LEA (or a State educational agency (SEA) on behalf of a high-need LEA) and an institution of higher education (IHE). Applicants may also develop mental health career pathways through career and technical education opportunities in secondary schools or through paraprofessional support degree programs at local community or technical colleges.  There is approximately $143 million in available funding for this year's competition.  For more information, see Final Priorities, Requirements, and Definitions-Mental Health Service Professional Demonstration Grant Program.
