Sports and Performance Programs: Support for the Social Emotional Wellness of Students

When:  Jul 10, 2020 from 11:00:00 AM to 12:30:00 PM (ET)

COMPLIMENTARY WEBINAR

Sports and performance programs are known to bring communities together in fellowship and support.  These education-based activities play a vital role in the development of students through lessons in good citizenship, collaboration, communication skills, and how to work with diverse groups of individuals.

As school district leadership teams ponder the budget shortfalls and the financial implications for the coming year, these important programs are sometimes the first to be eliminated.  By cutting these programs, school districts risk an impact on the social wellbeing of students.

This webinar will discuss the financial implications of sustaining these types of activities, and the important education-based role these programs provide to students.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Sports and performance programs are co-curricular, part of curriculum and content educating students.
  2. Understand financial implications, budget, or cost, of sustaining these programs in school districts.
  3. Role in sports and performance programs in social emotional learning and advocacy skills to help students to promote social justice skills in their community.
