The Federal School Safety Clearinghouse will be hosting a webinar on Thursday, June 24 at 3:00 PM EDT on mitigating the threat of school violence as the U.S. "returns to normal" from the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.

Representatives from the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Office of Intelligence and Analysis and the DHS Center for Prevention Programs and Partnerships will discuss their recently released public awareness bulletin, which indicates school communities face a heightened risk of targeted violence as they resume in-person operations and students return to campus this fall.

The webinar will cover the current threat environment, major trends, and risk factors as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic; the development of comprehensive local prevention frameworks to mitigate the threat of school violence; and an overview of existing Federal government resources available for schools to access as they prepare for back-to-school season.

The session will include a question and answer period for participants to engage directly with DHS staff. The webinar will be hosted on Adobe Connect and there is no cost to attend.
