Join us in Denver as the NSBA Council of School Attorneys celebrates 50 years of legal advocacy on behalf of public schools. Formed in 1967 under the corporate structure of the National School Boards Association, COSA began as a small but dedicated core of attorneys determined to provide a national forum for the exchange of information on the complex legal problems facing public schools. Today, COSA is over 3000 attorneys strong, and provides its members robust and thriving online discussion forums, two annual seminars, webinars, and publications. Together, COSA attorneys form a support network for one another; a trusted cohort of colleagues dedicated to the mission of public schools.
At the 2017 School Law Seminar, COSA attorneys past and present will gather in the Mile-High City to celebrate the extraordinary evolution of school law in the last half-century from a specialized employment practice to the wide-ranging set of issues we address today. Celebrity presenters including Jeffrey Toobin and Mary Beth Tinker will join COSA all-stars to discuss our shared history, our current challenges, and our predictions for the future of school law.
